As you might know, Windows 11 is configured to automatically download and install updates. Although this ensures that your Windows 11 installation to up to date, very rarely, an unfinished update might cause you trouble.
If your Windows 11 computer starts acting, you might want to check if an update was recently installed before resetting Windows 11 installation.
In Windows 11, there are multiple ways out there to view recently installed updates. You can use the Settings app, built-in PowerShell, or Command Prompt to view installed updates.
Following are the three ways to check the Windows Update history in Windows 11.
Method 1 of 4
View update history via Settings app in Windows 11
Step 1: Open the Settings app. On the left pane, click Windows Update.
Step 2: Now, on the right side, under More options, click Update history to open the Update history page.
Step 3: As you can see in the picture below, the page displays all installed updates, including feature updates, definition updates, and quality updates. In addition to these updates, the page also shows driver updates.
The page provides the installed date for updates and version number (if available). If you want to know more about an installed update, click on the Learn more link provided next to the update name, which will open Microsoft’s website in the default web browser and provide detailed information about the update.

View update history using Windows Terminal in Windows 11
Step 1: Use the search to open Windows PowerShell as administrator. To do that, type PowerShell in search, right-click on Windows PowerShell entry, and then click Run as administrator option.
Step 2: At the PowerShell window, type the following command and press the Enter key to view recently installed updates.
wmic qfe list

View recently installed updates via Command Prompt/PowerShell
The good old Command Prompt/PowerShell can also be used to view recently installed updates. Here is how.
Step 1: Open the Command Prompt/PowerShell as administrator by typing CMD in the search, right-clicking on Command Prompt entry, and then clicking Run as administrator.
Tip: After typing CMD or PowerShell in the search, you can use Ctrl + Shift + Enter hotkey to open Command Prompt/PowerShell as admin.

View Windows Update history via Control Panel
The good old Control Panel also shows update history. Here is how to use it to view recently installed updates. Note that this method might stop working soon as Windows 11 redirects Programs and Features to Settings > Apps > Installed apps page in recently released Windows Insider builds.
Step 1: Type appwiz.cpl in the search and press Enter key to open the Programs and Features window.
Step 2: In the left pane, click the View installed updates link to view the installed updates section.
You can uninstall an update by right-clicking on it and then clicking the Uninstall option.
