If you’ve ever used Windows XP operating system, then probably know that the Ctrl + Alt + Del keyboard shortcut is used to open Task Manager to end running programs and services. But in Windows Vista and Windows 7, one needs to use Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys to open Task Manager without touching the mouse.
In Vista and Windows 7, when you simultaneously press Ctrl + Alt + Del, Windows opens a screen containing options to lock your user account, switch to other user account, log off, change user account password and also open Task Manager.
The Ctrl + Alt + Del screen in Windows 7 displays Lock this computer, Switch User, Log off, Change a password and Start Task Manager options. If you want to remove one or more these options, you can use Ctrl + Alt + Del Options Tool.
Tweak Ctrl + Alt + Del Options Tool is a portable utility that allows you tweak the Ctrl + Alt + Del screen without opening Local Group Policy Editor or Registry. An option to add Windows Control Panel settings would have been awesome.

Open Local Group Policy Editor by typing Gpedit.msc in Run dialog box, and then navigate to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, System and then Ctrl+Alt+Del to add/remove options from the screen. This is a free tool and works great on both x86 and x64 versions of Windows 7. Please note that Group Policy Editor isn’t available in some editions of Windows 7.
